Eco Fashion Week Australia (EFWA) has been honoured in the 2026 International Green Apple Environment Awards for its groundbreaking project, Buya Subi, securing top recognition in the Creative Industries sector for Environmental Improvement.
Selected from more than 700 global entries, the award highlights Buya Subi—EFWA’s innovative silk sarong sustainability initiative—as an outstanding example of environmental best practice, eco-friendly design, and measurable action within the fashion industry.
The Green Apple Environment Awards are organized by The Green Organisation, an independent, international non-profit established in 1994 to recognize and promote environmental excellence worldwide.
Global Impact & Future Recognition
Green World Ambassador Status: Following the success of Buya Subi, EFWA has been invited to serve as a Green World Ambassador, representing Australia at the upcoming Green World Awards in Fiji.
Featured Publication: The Buya Subi project will be published in The Green Book—the world's leading annual reference work on environmental best practice—offering a blueprint for eco-conscious textile and fashion practices globally.
London Ceremony: EFWA will receive the award at a prestigious ceremony held at the House of Lords, Houses of Parliament, Palace of Westminster, London, on Monday, 23 November 2026.
